About this privacy policy
This is the general privacy policy for PACCAR in Australia and New Zealand. If you purchase a vehicle fitted with PACCAR Connect hardware and/or subscribe to the PACCAR Connect service, please also see the PACCAR Connect Privacy Policy below.
PACCAR Australia Pty Ltd (ACN 004 669 667) and PACCAR Financial Pty Ltd (PACCAR, us, our or we) sell trucks and related technology and services.
A current or prospective customer of PACCAR (Customer);
A Visitor to com.au, kenworth.com.au, paccarparts.com.au, paccarfinancial.com.au, daf.com.au, trpparts.com.au and/or paclease.com.au (our Websites) or someone who expresses interest in any of our products or services and provides us with personal information by email, over the phone or in person; or
A contractor or job applicant (Applicant/Contractor).
We are bound by and adhere to (as applicable) the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APP) under that Act, the Privacy Act 2020 (New Zealand) and the New Zealand Privacy Principles (together, Privacy Law), and this privacy policy.
This privacy policy explains how and what of your personal information (including any sensitive information) PACCAR collects, uses, discloses and how we manage your personal information as:
By using our Websites, entering into any transaction with us, participating in our events, loyalty programs, promotional activities, social media, by purchasing or by financing a vehicle from us you accept this privacy policy and expressly consent to our collection, use and disclosure of your personal information (including sensitive information) as described in this privacy policy.
If you are a Customer or Visitor aged under 15 years you must provide this privacy policy to a parent/guardian and obtain their express consent to PACCAR collecting, using and disclosing your personal information in accordance with this privacy policy prior to your use of any of our Websites.
There is no obligation for you to provide us with any of your personal information but, if you choose not to provide us with your personal information, we may not be able to provide the information or services that you require.
What personal information is collected and how
If you provide personal information to us via the Websites and/or if you otherwise contact us by phone, email or in person, we will collect your personal information necessary for the purposes outlined in this privacy policy (see section below headed How your personal information is used). The information we may collect includes (without limitation) your name, contact details (including phone, fax, email address and address), interests, requirements and background so we can better understand your specific needs and/or billing information so we can process payments.
In addition to the above circumstances in which (and methods by which) we collect your personal information, we may also collect your personal information:

On hard copy forms (including registration forms, warranty documentation, competition entry forms and surveys);

Some of the organisations to whom we may disclose your personal information to may be operating in other countries, including New Zealand, the United States and the Netherlands. We may also store your personal information on servers based overseas or in the “cloud” or other types of networked or electronic storage.
Where the third party recipient is located outside the jurisdiction where the information was provided to us, we will take reasonable steps to ensure that the overseas recipient is required to protect your personal information in a way that, overall, provides comparable safeguards to those under the relevant Privacy Law applicable to that information. Examples of such steps include a written agreement between us and the recipient, or making reasonable enquiries regarding the data protection standards of the country in which the recipient is domiciled.

We or other persons acting on our behalf may send Customers (and you consent to receive) marketing communications. These communications may be in various forms, including [mail, telephone, SMS] or via email. If you indicated a preference for a method of communication we will endeavour to use that method to communicate with you whenever practicable to do so. If at any time you decide you no longer wish to receive marketing communications from us you may use the opt-out/unsubscribe facility option in our email or SMS or make a request not to receive marketing communications from us by contacting us using the details noted below or by a request through any of the Websites.

Links to third party websites that we do not operate or control are provided for your convenience. We are not responsible for the privacy or security practices of websites that are not covered by this privacy policy. Third party websites should have their own privacy and security policies which we encourage you to read before supplying any personal information to them.
Protecting your personal information
We store information in different ways, including paper and electronic form. We take reasonable steps (and require third parties to whom we disclose your personal information to take reasonable steps) to protect it from misuse, interference, loss, unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.

However, our data protection measures are not a guarantee of the security of your personal information. You must also take care to protect your personal information. We take all reasonable steps (and we require organisations with whom we share your personal information to take all reasonable steps) to destroy or permanently de-identify your personal information where it is no longer required for the purpose/s for which it was collected or once any legal obligation to retain it has expired.
Updating and/or accessing your personal information
We take reasonable steps to ensure that your personal information that we hold is accurate, complete, up to date and not misleading. To assist us to do this, please ensure you provide us with correct information and inform us whenever your personal information changes.

If we refuse to correct your personal information following a request by you to do so, then we will provide you with a written notice of the reason(s) for such refusal and the procedure to complain about our refusal. We will respond to any requests regarding the correction of your personal information so that it is accurate, complete, up to date and not misleading within a reasonable period after a request is made. We will not charge you for any request to correct your information.
Where you request access to your personal information, we will respond to any such request within a reasonable period after the request is made. If we refuse to provide access to your personal information for any reason, we will provide you with a written notice of the reason(s) for such refusal and the procedure to complain about the refusal.
We may recover from you our reasonable costs of supplying you with your personal information in accordance with your request.

We may, from time to time, update this privacy policy. You can find the date of the most recent review of this policy at the end of the document. When we make material changes to this privacy policy we will highlight these in a banner on the Websites and send Customers and Job Applicants a notification by email.
Your continued use of the Websites or any of our services, requesting our services or the provision by you of further personal information to us after this privacy policy has been revised will be deemed to be your acceptance of and consent to the revised privacy policy.

About this privacy policy
This privacy policy is for the PACCAR Connect product and services. If you are not acquiring or using PACCAR Connect, please refer to the PACCAR Privacy Policy above.
PACCAR Connect is the in-vehicle telematics hardware and related services and applications offered by PACCAR Australia Pty Ltd (ACN 004 669 667) (which also trades as Kenworth and DAF of Melbourne, Kenworth DAF Melbourne, Kenworth Melbourne, PACCAR Trucks Melbourne, DAF Melbourne, DAF Trucks Australia, Kenworth Truck Sales, Kenworth Trucks and PACCAR Parts) and PACCAR Financial Pty Ltd (which also trades as PacLease) (PACCAR Connect, we, us or our).
This privacy policy explains how and what of your personal information (including sensitive information) PACCAR Connect collects, uses, discloses and how we manage your personal information as:
A Customer who owns and/or operates any vehicle fitted with PACCAR Connect hardware (“Customer”);
A Driver who drives a vehicle fitted with PACCAR Connect hardware.
A User who uses the PACCAR Connect services such as the PACCAR Connect portal (website), mobile applications and related services, who is an authorised representative of the Customer (“User“).
We are bound by and adhere (as applicable) to the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APP) under that Act, the Privacy Act 2020 (New Zealand) and the New Zealand Privacy Principles (together, Privacy Law) and this privacy policy.
By using the PACCAR Connect web portal at paccarconnect.com.au (Web Portal), downloading and using the PACCAR Connect Driver Phone App (Driver App), downloading and using the PACCAR Connect Fleet Phone App (Fleet App), purchasing or leasing a vehicle fitted with PACCAR Connect hardware or by driving a vehicle fitted with PACCAR Connect hardware you accept this privacy policy and consent to our collection, use and disclosure of your personal information (including any sensitive information) as described in this privacy policy
If you do not wish us to collect your personal information you must contact your PACCAR dealer to request that we disable the PACCAR Connect functionality. However, if you do so, we may not be able to provide the information or services of PACCAR Connect to you.
If you are a Customer you must provide this privacy policy to all those who operate or drive the vehicle (i.e. Drivers and Users), obtain their consent to our collection, use and disclosure of their personal information in accordance with this privacy policy and inform them that the vehicle is being tracked using PACCAR Connect.
If, as a Customer, you sell a vehicle that has an active PACCAR Connect subscription you must comply with your requirements under the agreement with PACCAR Connect, including to:
Notify us of the sale so that we may terminate the PACCAR Connect services;
Notify the new owner that the PACCAR Connect services have been, or will be, terminated and will not be automatically transferred to the new owner of the vehicle; and
Not provide your access credentials (i.e. username and password) for PACCAR Connect to the purchaser of the vehicle (or anyone else) unless otherwise agreed.
What personal information is collected and how
For All
PACCAR Connect collects GPS vehicle tracking and location information, vehicle performance information, driver behaviours (vehicle handling), vehicle identifiers, registration and nickname, vehicle service information and trip history.
For Customers
In addition to the information noted under “For All” above, if you are a Customer you may opt to use the Web Portal and/or the mobile Fleet Manager App to manage and monitor your vehicles. We ask you to provide (and we collect) your name, email address, phone number, ABN, fax number, business name and business address when you subscribe to PACCAR Connect.
For Users
In addition to the information noted under “For All” above, we ask you to provide (and we collect) your name, email address, phone number, and business address when you are registered as a User for PACCAR Connect.
In addition to the information noted under “For All” above, we collect data via the PACCAR Connect hardware and software in the vehicle, which relates to your use and handling of the vehicle. As a Driver, you can be identified by the data collected thus making the data your personal information. PACCAR Connect will monitor where you drive, what distances and the manner in which you drive the vehicle As a Driver you may have an account created for use of the mobile Driver App. This requires that we collect your name and mobile number as a Driver.
For Drivers
How is your personal information used
The main purposes for which we collect, hold, use and disclose your personal information are to provide the PACCAR Connect services and benefits to our Customers, Users and Drivers, prospective customers and , in particular, vehicle owners and for PACCAR Connect to be able to monitor and assess the performance, handling, servicing of the vehicles and Driver behaviours and to track vehicles.
We use your personal information to enable and provide the PACCAR Connect functionality and services including*:
Operating, managing and improving the Web Portal, Driver App and Fleet App;
Providing assistance in administration of your PACCAR Connect account(s) including fees and payments;
Conducting vehicle remote diagnostics, repair and maintenance planning;
Offering and providing service support of a vehicle;
Providing emergency assistance in relation to a vehicle;
Recommending driver training, providing driver training and suggesting ways to optimise driving of the vehicle;
Addressing any enquiries you may have;
For direct marketing purposes (as detailed below); and,
Otherwise as permitted or required by law.
We may also use your personal information to monitor for any unauthorised use of the vehicle, track its location or verify subscriptions to PACCAR Connect.
*Some features and functions may not be available pending development.
How your personal information is shared
If you are a Driver, your personal information collected from the PACCAR Connect hardware will be made available (i.e. disclosed) to the Vehicle Owner and some Users as set by each Customer’s Account Administrator.
Whether a Customer, User or Driver, organisations to which we may disclose your personal information for the purposes noted above include:
