Celebrating a 20 year partnership with Kenworth Trucks, Supercars CEO Sean Seamer visited the Kenworth plant in Bayswater, Victoria, where he was handed the keys to a new K200 and T610, extending the Supercars-Kenworth relationship for another three years.

As part of the longstanding partnership, Kenworth provides transportation to every Australian Supercars event – totalling more than 35,000 kilometres each season. Of the two trucks provided by Kenworth – one will transport both the safety and medical cars and office facilities used by the Supercars motorsport team at events, and the second will serve as the CEO’s boardroom and Supercars media hub.

The two Australian made Kenworth trucks are powered by a 15 litre Cummins X15 Euro V engine, Eaton Ultrashift transmission and had a number of distinctive features including; embroidered door trim and black leather seats with the Supercars logo and a personalised exhaust shield.

Sean Seamer, received the keys of the K200 and T610 from Managing Director PACCAR Australia, Andrew Hadjikakou. During the handover ceremony, Andrew stated: “Being able to support the Supercars community through extending this valuable partnership for another three years is a testament to the long and proud relationship that continues to exist between both our companies”.

Kenworth also offers its support to the popular drivers parade, where a fleet of Kenworths lead the drivers around Mount Panorama at Bathurst each October. The first drivers parade took place in Eastern Creek in 2003 before it officially claimed naming rights to the Kenworth Drivers Parade at the Bathurst event in 2006.

The Virgin Australia Supercars Championship is the premier motorsport category in Australia. It is globally recognised as the best touring car category in the world and a leader in motorsport entertainment. The partnership between Supercars and Kenworth was established in 2000.
