PACCAR Australia is excited to announce the Bayswater Plant will be implementing major changes over the next three years to extend its production facilities.
Changes include a 1500 metre factory extension, a new 9300 metre on-site warehouse, paint shop upgrade and improved layouts for frame, cab build, cab trim, engine assembly and final line functions.
The final test operation is being relocated away from the main plant as well as installing a 2.1 metre framer in cab build and four new paint robots.
This project will improve efficiency, quality and safety that will reduce plant congestion, while also protecting for future growth.
The rearrangements are to allow an increase in production capacity including more DAF trucks assembled as part of the model mix.
The building programme involves two separate stages to enable production to continue to meet the required build rates; Stage 1 involves increasing carparks and an extension to the plant and stage 2 involves the building of the new warehouse and part kitting operation.
