Leading truck manufacturer and technology company, PACCAR Australia, has announced the appointment of a new Managing Director, Andrew Hadjikakou, who commenced his role officially on Friday 1 April, 2016.

Previously Andrew was Director of Sales and Marketing at PACCAR Australia and he brings a deep understanding of market knowledge and corporate responsibility to the role, having also held other executive positions prior to joining PACCAR Australia.

Andrew succeeds outgoing Managing Director Mike Dozier, who has been promoted to PACCAR Vice President and General Manager of the Kenworth Truck company.

Mike will relocate to the United States after three years in the top job at the Bayswater, Victoria headquarters of PACCAR Australia. He leaves the company in a solid position, with the strongest dealer network in Australia and Kenworth the leader in the heavy duty market.

Commenting on Andrew’s appointment, Mike said, “It is a great pleasure to be handing over this role to Andrew. His technical experience and service to our sales and marketing operations coupled with his enthusiasm and drive will be invaluable for PACCAR Australia over the coming years. We need strong leadership going forward and Andrew’s recognised at this important time of the company’s history.”

Andrew acknowledges that Mike has been very complimentary of his new appointment as he welcomed him to the senior position.

“Mike has been a wonderful leader in his three years as Managing Director. He’s left the company in the best possible position. Much of Mike’s success is evidenced through his approachable character and collaborative work ethic with staff, suppliers, dealers and customers.”

PACCAR Australia plays a critical role in today’s medium and heavy duty transport industry. It not only provides Australian made Kenworth trucks, but also imports the leading European DAF brand, as well as supplying the largest network of genuine parts, and financial solutions.

Andrew is keen to sustain the culture at PACCAR: a dedication to ‘all things quality’. Since the 1970s, the group in Australia has embedded this value throughout the business to bring about outstanding technology and product improvements. Products such as the DAF XF105 series, and the current range of PACCAR MX engines is a reflection of the company’s years of technical experience in producing reliable and durable world-class truck engines.

“Since 1971 we’ve been designing, engineering and manufacturing the Kenworth brand here in Australia for Australian road conditions. Over the last few years it’s helped us reach new markets for diverse needs, which in turn has expanded our overall share across a range of business segments.”

Upon commencement of Andrew’s new appointment, he passes on the Director of Sales and Marketing baton to Brad May, who has been employed with PACCAR Australia for 22 years.

Andrew said he is looking forward to his commitments and to leading the ongoing development of new products and services during his tenure as Managing Director.

“I’m honoured and pleased to be leading the business for years to come. I’m excited about supporting our staff, dealers and suppliers through this next phase of growth. Be it Papua New Guinea, Australia, or New Zealand, it’s really about continuing all the good things that have been put in place and supporting everyone involved in meeting the needs of our customers– that’s the primary goal.”
